Self-care is essential for us to maintain good health, prevent disease, and improve overall quality of life. It boosts self-esteem and makes us more available to others both personally and professionally. Despite knowing this, we tend not to do it. The question is, Why? This free, virtual training with Marilyn Stein dives right in—we have an hour together, so let’s explore what’s keeping our attention on others, rather than ourselves, including:

Presenter

Marilyn Stein, MEd, CAAP-CJ, founded MGS Consulting, a training and consulting organization, upon retiring as a parole officer in 2002. Her singular goal: to bring evidence-based behavioral health advances to courtrooms, counseling spaces, prisons, and individuals struggling to figure out how to live their best lives.

While she specializes in the tangled relationship between trauma and addiction, Marilyn has spoken, trained, and developed curriculum on topics spanning motivational interviewing, cultural competence and professional ethics. Her training content is complemented by her engaging delivery, which has gained her a following that includes court systems, judges, probation officers, treatment professionals, recovery programs, private corporations, and individuals in recovery. All appreciate her ability to reach people – and respect them while doing it.

Marilyn lives in Lancaster with her husband and cats. She is a devoted and passionate bee-keeper.
