This training will provide illustrations and an overview of how shame surrounding eating disorders presents in faith-based settings and outline strategies and best practices for removing mental health stigma and caring for congregants – mind, body and spirit. Treatment of Substance Use Disorders has made great strides recently – from changing the way addiction is viewed to the development of new therapies and medications. We will look at the current state of the treatment field and explore the effectiveness of treatment– from examining the public’s expectations of treatment, to studies comparing treatment vs. no treatment, various treatment goals, and the role of motivation in treatment. Explores the growth of gaming, sports betting, and internet gambling in New Jersey. Participants will learn the risk of progression from recreational to disordered gambling as well as the resources available to help both the problem gambler and loved ones. This training will provide an overview of how to utilize harm reduction approaches in a clinical setting. This training will review harm reduction approaches and useful conversations to use when working with clients who use substances from alcohol to Fentanyl in all levels of care. The training also will provide a contemporary review of Harm Reduction options. A one hour webinar designed to help the participant understand tools and techniques that can be used in addiction prevention. Presented by Luis Del Orbe, Problem Gambling Prevention Specialist for the Council on Compulsive Gambling of New Jersey, he will lead an exploratory discussion into family culture and practices that can aid in reducing the possible risk of developing addictive behaviors in youth . Family Constellations is the term for a method of working with the family system as developed by Bert Hellinger, a family therapist in Germany. In this online workshop, Karen Carnabucci, LCSW, TEP will offer a self-experience for participants who are interested in the method and how it may be presented in individual or group sessions. She will discuss how Family Constellations explores, through experiential interaction and mindfulness, how an unresolved family trauma or other instance of family or collective pain is carried through the generations. This webinar discusses the nature of problem and disordered gambling. The webinar will explore ways to watch for warning signs, understand moderation, and also ways to “Have the Conversation” with a loved one who may be struggling. Further, the webinar will aim to further the understanding and share strategies that gambling should always be done responsibly as a form of entertainment while avoiding the false belief that it’s a profitable long-term activity.
