In addition to offering prevention programs for at-risk children, teens, and young adults to ensure they don’t go down the path to addiction, we also offer information and referral services to help individuals and families who are coping with active addiction to get the treatment and recovery resources that they desperately need.
Here’s how we’re helping.
“I took a call this month from a single father of a 15-year-old boy, who had found out that his son had been smoking marijuana daily,” recalled a Compass Mark staff member. “Distraught, he began researching treatment options and learned that his deductible was $3,000.
He was so overwhelmed that by the time he called Compass Mark, he was on the verge of hopelessness. Internet marketers had encouraged him to take out loans to pay for the treatment. When I informed him that there might be treatment options he wasn’t aware of, he broke down with relief.
I continue to learn more about how difficult it is for families to navigate a disease like addiction, and this was a good reminder of how important a listening ear can be.”
