Compass Mark is excited to partner with Temple University Harrisburg’s Expanding Hope Project: Motivational Interviewing for Health and Service Providers in offering a series of training modules in Motivational Interviewing. MI is a proven approach to help support individuals who struggle with substance use and opioid use disorders. MI is an evidence-based, collaborative conversation that is used to strengthen a person’s own motivation for and commitment to change.

This virtual training series is FREE to anyone who lives or works in Lancaster County as a Service Provider, including addiction counselors and recovery specialists, MH peer specialists, social workers, MH therapists, healthcare professionals, and educators.

  • Module 1 (1.5 hrs self-directed online training): Why Motivational Interviewing for SUD and OUD?
  • Modules 2 & 3 (6 hrs live virtual training with Marilyn Stein, MEd, CAAP): Motivational Interviewing: Theory and Application for Change
  • Module 4 (2.5 hrs self-directed online training): Bringing It All Together: Practicing for Proficiency

Registrants for Lancaster County must sign up for Module 2 on 9/30  and Module 3 on 10/2.

Continuing Education: *This training series has been approved for 10 Social Work and 10 Pennsylvania Certification Board (PCB) continuing education hours. Each request will have a fee of $20.00 per CE type and requires payment upon check out.

* Participants must complete all four modules (ten hours of training) to receive PCB and/or Social Work continuing education.
