Black Mental Health Matters (Part II) is a webinar facilitated by Dr. Eunice Peterson, a board-certified Adult, and Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist. The webinar is an interactive presentation with a Q&A session designed to provide participants with an understanding of how racism impacts mental health. Dr. Peterson will present information on how systemic racism and the Black community’s experience with police brutality (directly and indirectly) impact young people’s mental health, in particular. Dr. Peterson will examine how racial microtraumas and microaggressions adversely impact mental health in the African American community. While both Part I and Part II of “Black Mental Health Matters” are open to all participants, Part II of the series is designed to be informative for those who face mental health challenges and the families and communities that support them. (Find Part 1 here)
