Energize & Engage Your Groups with Action

  • Virtual Event
     June 4, 2024
     9:00 am - 10:30 am

Professionals with great one-to-one skills aren’t always successful in conducting treatment or psychoeducational groups.

The fact is good groups don’t just happen. Groups become engaging and vibrant when the group leader brings an attitude of inclusion into the group setting, promoting connection, cohesion and safety.

Group therapy is a key component of quality behavioral health treatment. This interactive workshop is designed for new group leaders and experienced group leaders alike who want to integrate experiential activities into their groups for greater engagement.

The aim of this virtual training via Zoom is to give leaders the skills and theories to work with groups, to understand group dynamics and lead groups that are enriching and involving for all participants, including the leader. Participants will learn:A professional woman looks earnestly into the camera

  • The definition of “warm-up” and how it creates group cohesion
  • How to design effective warm-ups for your group which avoid common pitfalls
  • How to keep group members engaged with experiential activities
  • How to adapt these skills to lectures and psychoeducational groups
