The Lancaster County Office of Adult Probation & Parole began implementing the 8 recommended principles and practices of effective intervention almost 2 years ago, which are:
• Target Highest Risk Offenders
• Assess Offenders Needs
• Design Responsivity into Programming
• Develop Behavior Management Plans
• Deliver Treatment Programs using Cognitive-Based Strategies
• Motivate and Shape Offender Behaviors
• Engender the Community as a Protective Factor Against Recidivism and Use the Community to Support Offender Reentry and Reintegration
• Identify Outcomes and Measure Progress
We will learn about the LSIR (Level of Service Inventory- Revised), an assessment tool to be used with each probation client, and how client scores will relate to the services they receive.
Provided by the Association of Chemical Dependency Professionals- anyone may attend and there is no need to register. 2 PCB-approved credits with low-cost membership to the Assoc.- call Linda Morrow at (717) 299-0131 for details.
This training is a foundation course for anyone working in the field of substance abuse treatment. Course provides the information needed in order to comply with the applicable Federal and State laws and regulations.

21st Annual Lancaster County DUI Awareness Conference for prevention/intervention specialists, law enforcement, medical professionals, educators, probation & parole, or anyone with an interest.
Educating and empowering professionals to more effectively recognize and manage daily circumstances through legislative updates, enforcement initiatives, current trends, and the latest approaches to treatment, intervention, and prevention.

This program is FREE to any Lancaster County parent or youth mentor. The evening gives participants insight into chemical use in youth. There will be a review of the stages of addiction, what to look for and how to talk to a child if you suspect alcohol and other drug use and where to go for help.

This summit will explore implications to HIV Housing related to the National AIDS Strategy and Healthcare Reform. We will also look at local planning and advocacy efforts. The meeting will be facilitated by staff and members from the National HIV Housing Coalition and Housing Works.
Those working with HIV+ clients, local housing agencies/authorities, housing continuums of care and interested parties are encouraged to attend.
